modern machinery of beaverton expansion 2

Modern Machinery is excited to announce another expansion to our existing buildings to accommodate the need for more manufacturing/assembly space. The 12,000-sq-ft. high bay addition will include another crane to accommodate company needs. We will also be adding an additional 3,000-sq-ft. office/training center.

The site is currently being cleared, and excavation and concrete are in the works. In January of 2023, the metal building erection will begin.

The expected completion of this expansion is in the Spring of 2023!

Stay tuned for more updates!

Modern Machinery is presenting a vac-forming shuttle machine at the 2018 SPE Thermoforming Conference in Fort Worth, TX. The machine is a Model 3648SS, which can accommodate a maximum tool size of 36" x 48". The Former has electrically powered Top & Bottom platens with encoder-controlled positioning, along with an electrically powered shuttle car. The machine features Modern's '4-Way Adjustable Clamp Frames', which allow quick change-over and are constructed of the most robust design on the market. A Quartz IR oven provides the heating with 650-watt heaters, zoned with (3) elements per zone and an IR sensor for monitoring sheet temperature. The vacuum system is controlled with servo-actuated vacuum valves, a 3HP Busch vac-pump, and a 320-gallon reservoir.

Modern completes our facility expansion and moves into the 12,000 square foot assembly area.  The new expansion was built with 40 foot side walls to accomodate the ever increasing size of new equipment, and to allow the integration of an overhead crane. The overhead crane has several benefits including safety, improved productivity, and reduced rigging costs.  The building expansion is expected to increase Modern's capacity by 30-40%.

Modern is proud to announce the hiring of Mr. Daniel Smith to the position of Program Manager. Dan brings over 40 years of process thermoforming experience to Modern. In his new role Dan will be responsible for managing key projects from award through installation, and will be a valuable asset interfacing with our clients.
